Job Description
- Prepare and file Sales & Use tax returns and payments accurately and timely as required by taxing jurisdictions to ensure all return filing deadlines are achieved.
- Should have an understanding of state rules and regulations.
- Maintain high standards for accuracy in line with standard operating procedures to avoid causing penalty and interest to the client.
- Ability to meet the SLAs and ensure accurate and timely registration.
- Communicate ongoing status and challenges or blockers, if any, to the manager.
- Stay abreast of all updates & trends, supporting overall production/accuracy goals.
- Find and implement opportunities for process improvement and build efficiency.
- Work with the team to plan and prepare monthly/quarterly/semi-annual/annual filings.
- Serve as the front line contact for external customers by answering emails and client calls.
- Assist internal groups with technical issues and inquiries.
- Communicate clearly and concisely and maintain accurate and timely records in systems.
- Be open to accepting additional responsibilities assigned to meet deadlines.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Ability to adhere and deliver as per timelines of various government authorities as per various data formats.
- Flexible to extend working hours, including working on weekends and holidays as may be required to complete the filing requirements.
What You'll Need to be Successful
- Strong attention to detail with precision.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.
- MBA in Finance would be preferred.
- Knowledge of Sales Tax (VAT & Use Tax) would be preferred.
- Experience with tracking tools like Salesforce & Atlassian Jira.
- Position requires oral and written communication with external customers and collaboration with internal contacts. Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds to client queries.
